MANILA, Philippines — Four Filipina fans had the time of their lives as Irish boyband Westlife serenaded them on stage at the first night of their two-night "The Twenty Tour" Manila concert held at the Araneta Coliseum on Monday night.
The boy band, composed of Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne, was in the middle of their concert when they put a chair in the middle of the stage, announcing that they will pick a girl from the audience to be serenaded.
But as the band read the placards of the audience, they decided to put extra three chairs on the stage for them to serenade four Filipinas. The audience cheered and applauded the group while they sang their hit song “Better Man” to the four lucky Filipinas.
Westlife opened their concert with the song “Hello, My Love,” followed by their hit song, “Swear It Again.”
The crowd was on their feet as they sang along with the group's “My Love,” "If I Let You Go," I Lay My Love On You," “Uptown Girl," "Fool Again," "Queen of My Heart," and "When You're Looking Like That," hits that were among that defined the '90s.
Apart from their chart-topping songs that spanned through two decades in the industry, Westlife also sang Queen's songs such as “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Radio Gaga,” “I Want to Break Free,” Somebody To Love,” “We Will Rock You,” and “We Are The Champions,” as tribute to one of the best bands of all time.
The group ended the first night of their concert in Manila with “Flying Without Wings” and “World of Our Own.”
Only a few tickets left for Westlife's second day! Tickets are available via TicketNet.com.ph or at TicketNet outlets and Araneta Coliseum box office. Don’t miss the much-awaited reunion tour of the year presented by Wilbros Live!
