MANILA, Philippines — GMA Pinoy TV once again brought the Philippines closer to Fil-Ams in the East Coast with Kapusong Pinoy Studio 7 Musikalye sa Brooklyn, held last May 11 at Brooklyn’s historic Kings Theater.
Flying in from Manila for the event were the show’s Christian Bautista, Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Kyline Alcantara, The Clash champion Golden Cañedo, Betong Sumaya, and Alden Richards.
A day before the show, a press conference was held at D”Haven Restaurant with Kapuso stars. Alden was unusually quiet during the event (must be suffering from jet lag. He arrived a little past midnight and had to do early rehearsals). He was asked how he does “damage control” with the recent events that have hounded him. He replied that he just ignores the bashers and keeps his silence. “I have observed that bashers want you to be engaged in what they are doing. I don’t really answer if my answer is not required. I just try to be quiet and let the truth come out,” he quipped.

As expected, a fun filled variety show happened during the Performance Night which was enjoyed by fans who trooped from as far as the West Coast. The line outside the theater grew by the hour. Die-hard ALDub fans were in full gear to support the stars. A die-hard fan commented that they will always remain loyal to the loveteam no matter what happens.
The most touching part of the event was a Mothers Day tribute wherein several empowered women from the area were serenade by the stars. Tears flowed during the emotional segment of the night.
