MANILA, Philippines — After 33 years of public service, outgoing Quezon City Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista revealed he wanted to go back to show business.
In interview with Lhar Santiago in GMA’s “24 Oras,” Herbert said he feels fulfilled on his roles as mayor, vice mayor and councilor for 33 years.
"I'm very much fulfilled kasi 'yung nine years ko as mayor, 'yung 12 years ko as vice-mayor, 'yung six years ko as councilor, total of about 33 years, nakapag-ambag tayo sa unti-unting pag-unlad ng ating lungsod," Herbert said.
“I hope magkaro'n ako ng trabaho sa entertainment industry because du'n kami lumaki. Hopefully after my term may mga project na pumasok na babagay naman sa akin," he added.
He is also open to the possibility of hosting alongside Willie Revillame.
"Ire-rehearse ko muna 'yung hosting sa mga maliliit na okasyon, 'di ba? 'Yung mga... sa ibang mga events. Hosting sa TV, puwede rin. Puwede akong maging alalay ni 'Wowowin’," Herbert said.
Apart from showbiz, Herbert is also eyeing to go back to school to finish his doctorate degree in public administration.
“Maliban sa pagbabalik-showbiz, gusto rin daw ng alkalde na mag-aral para matapos ang kaniyang doctorate degree sa public administration,” he said.
"Kasi gusto mo ring mag-artista at the same time so baka merong pag-aartistang once or twice a week, tapos kukuha ko ng mga ibang subjects ng once or twice a week din. So that's okay.”
