MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya on- and off-screen partner Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano attended the Coachella Music & Arts Festival 2019 to witness the historic debut of Korean pop sensation Black Pink in the music festival.
In her Instagram account, Liza posted photos of the festival and a video of the Korean girl group’s performance in the festival held at the Coachella dessert valley in Southern California.
“I only went to coachella for @blackpinkofficial period,” Liza captioned the video.
Black Pink is the first-ever K-pop group to perform in the annual music and arts festival.
Liza and Enrique’s close friend documented their experience through his Instagram story. Enrique’s younger sister Andi and Liza’s younger brother Justin also joined them in the music festival.
Coachella Music & Arts Festival features musical artists from many genres of music, including rock, pop, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures.
For the festival’s Day 3 on Sunday, Filipino-American Grammy winner H. E. R. performed, followed by international pop star Ariana Grande, who surprised fans with her guests, rapper and “Side To Side” collaborator Nicki Minaj and ‘90s boy band NSYNC, minus Justin Timberlake, who was unable to come reportedly due to an injury.
