MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor Luis Manzano revealed that his mother Vilma Santos once rescued his then three-year-old girlfriend Jessy Mendiola and her older sister Pam from a fire.

In Jessy’s vlog titled "Mukbang + How Well Do You Know Each Other" on her YouTube channel, Luis recalled how his mom saved Jessy and her sister when a fire broke out during a commercial shoot.

“Trivia: nung bata siya, nagkasama sila ni mommy sa isang commercial. Sila nung ate niya, si Ate Pam. Nasunog 'yung set. Niligtas sila ni mommy," Luis recalled.

Jessy agreed, saying: "Three years old lang ako nun. Karga-karga niya ako."

"Nung nasunog 'yung set, stove I guess, nilabas sila ni mommy. Ang galing ‘di ba?” Luis added.

He also revealed that his father Edu Manzano and Jessy’s Lebanese father Roger Tawile also knew each other.

"At tsaka 'yung daddy ko at daddy niya matagal na rin magkakilala," Jessy said.

“Ganun ka-small world 'yung families namin. Nakakagulat na 'yung dad niya and 'yung dad ko, may mga common friends and nag-uusap pala sila na hindi namin alam," Luis bared.

The 37-year-old Kapamilya host and the 26-year-old Kapamilya actress entered into a relationship on June 25, 2016.

In an interview with the media last January, Luis said he is already sure that he wants Jessy to become his wife in the future, but wedding bells will not be ringing anytime soon as he is still planning for a better future with her.
