Preparing to be Matteo’s wife?

MANILA, Philippines — Is Sarah Geronimo’s passion for cooking a preparation for her role of a lifetime as Matteo Guidicelli’s doting wife — and mom to their future children?

At the recent launch of Phoenix Super LPG at The Tent in Taguig City, the Pop Star Princess disclosed that she’s been taking cooking lessons seriously to further her skills in the kitchen, which fanned speculation that the 30-year-old superstar is indeed gearing up for wifehood.

At the event, Sarah gushed about her good friend Judy Ann Santos’ culinary expertise, calling her “ang tunay kong ehemplo.” Judy Ann has been living a blissful life with devoted hubby Ryan Agoncillo for a decade now, after discovering that the easiest way to a man’s heart is through his tummy.

Of course, you won’t hear the very private Sarah talk openly about how she makes Matteo happy, or what their plans for the future are, but one can surmise from her statements about how cooking for her loved ones excites her.

“Parang ang sarap kasi sa pakiramdam na kaya mong ipagluto ‘yung pamilya mo and mga friends mo,” said Sarah, who is nominated this year for FAMAS Best Actress for Miss Granny. “Ginusto ko po talagang matutong magluto.”

Having discovered the joys of cooking, she said she started with little experiments, from whipping eggs correctly to cooking simple dishes. She has eventually mastered making adobo and sinigang, and is now learning her mom’s kare-kare and sweet chili prawn, and her dad’s pininyahang manok.

People close to the couple believe that Sarah’s new passion was also inspired by Matteo’s Filipino-Italian family. The Guidicellis, who are said to be very close to Sarah, are into restaurant business being the owners of the popular Italian eatery Da Gianni in Alabang, Muntinlupa, and the Trattoria da Gianni in Cebu.

Sarah said her latest stint as spokesperson of Phoenix Super LPG came right in time as she needed safe and simple tools while spending hours in the kitchen.

“Phoenix Super LPG has features that highlight safety, certainty and simplicity that make me feel more at ease because cooking becomes more enjoyable and hassle-free,” she told an ecstatic crowd at The Tent following an easy-to-make meals lesson by popular Chef JM Sungalo, using the all new Phoenix Super LPG.

Despite dating for five years now, the Kapamilya power couple has been keeping their romance largely to themselves.

But last Valentine’s Day, amid persistent rumors that the two are already engaged, the dashing actor and triathlete professed his true love for Sarah and called her the “most beautiful, magical human being ever.”

Sarah is set to start her latest movie project, Unforgettable, opposite a golden retriever.
