Arjo Atayde on dating Maine Mendoza: ‘Very, very happy’
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor Arjo Atayde said he is happy now that Kapuso actress Maine Mendoza finally admitted that they are dating.
In an interview with the media after the press conference of his new socio-political action drama series “Bagman” to be shown on iWant, Arjo said of his relationship with Maine: “Masaya po ako. I am very, very happy. I am contented.”
Arjo, however, clarified that he and Maine are not already in a relationship.
“We are exclusively dating po. Doon pa lang muna,” Arjo said.
When asked if he will announce if they are already officially in a relationship, Arjo said: “Let’s see po. One step at a time.”
Despite the hate he gets from fans of the AlDub love team of Maine and on-screen partner Alden Richards, Arjo said Maine is worth fighting for.
“As I've said last time, she's worth fighting for, so you know. Dedma na lang siguro. I'm just really happy. I can see her happy. I guess that it's all that matters for me,” Arjo said.
“We are both really happy. I am. I don’t want to speak for her. I am very happy. I think that’s what matters now. With my career, ABS is taking care of me. My personal life is good. My family is fine. I am very happy. Kuntento po ako ngayon,” he added.
The actor also added that he wants to work with Maine in the future, but not for now.
“Of course. I would love to work with her. For now, huwag po muna. At saka na po, when the time is right. But of course, I am looking forward to working with her,” he said.
