Egg beats Kylie Jenner as most liked photo on Instagram, socialite responds
MANILA, Philippines — Defeat does not seem to sit well with American socialite Kylie Jenner.
After a humble egg beat her as the most liked photo on Instagram with over 25 million likes, the model and reality show star posted a video of her cracking an egg open and spilling its contents on the ground.
“Take that little egg,” Kylie captioned the video, which drew laughter from netizens.
Before the egg hit Instagram by storm, Kylie held the world record for the most liked photo on the social media site for a picture of her newborn baby Stormi Webster's hand grasping her thumb. The photo posted in February last year has 18 million likes.
The Instagram account @world_record_egg posted a photo of an egg last January 4 in an attempt to be the most liked photo on the social media site.
“Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram. Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this #LikeTheEgg #EggSoldiers #EggGang,” the account’s only post reads. The post also tagged news outlets like Buzzfeed, CNN and Good Morning America as well as celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres and Jimmy Fallon.
On Monday, the account edited their profile description to “Official world record holders of the most liked picture on Instagram.” It’s still not known who the people behind the account are.
