“Morning after Golden Globes celebration was full of Filipino treats including this fun spritely lady with me ... ‘who dreamed of coming to this country and getting invited to glamorous parties like this...’ Well Mom, I’m glad you made it,” Criss captioned the post with a photo of his mother.
Criss won the Golden Globe last Monday (Manila time) for his performance in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.”
During his speech, Criss thanked his Filipino mother onstage, saying he’s proud to be the son “of a firecracker Filipino woman.”
“This has been a marvelous year for representation in Hollywood, and I am so enormously proud to be a teeny, tiny part of that, as the son of a firecracker Filipino woman,” Criss said during the Golden Globe Awards night.
“Mom, I know you are watching this. You are hugely responsible for most of the good things in my life. I love you dearly. I dedicate this to you,” he added.
Criss’s mother is from Cebu.
Prior to his Golden Globe win, Criss became popular for his portrayal as Blaine Anderson on musical comedy-drama series “Glee.”
