Catriona reaches 3 million followers on 3rd day as Miss Universe

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino beauty queen Catriona Gray once again recorded an impressive social media milestone on her third day as Miss Universe.

Gray earned a million additional followers and currently has over 3.2 million followers on Instagram.

“How I'm feeling now that there's 3MILLION of you on this journey!,” Gray wrote on an Instagram post accompanied with a happy photo of her.

Gray earned around 2 million followers on Instagram in less than a week.

On the eve of the Miss Universe coronation last Sunday, Gray reached 1 million followers. She also made it to the 2-million mark after she was crowned as the fourth Filipina Miss Universe.

Her social media numbers continue to rise as her Facebook page also now surpassed the 1-million mark. Her followers were only about 900,000 before she won, and gained 33 percent more almost overnight.

Gray’s Twitter followers also doubled from less than 200,000 to around 406,000.

The 24-year-old Filipina-Australian earlier thanked the Philippines and Filipinos who supported her in her journey.

“I just wanna say thank you to the Philippines, my country. You know you guys have supported me all through this and if not for you I would have not had the insurance or the spirit to do what I do,” she said in a message video released by the Miss Universe Organization.

Gray was crowned Miss Universe on Monday after besting out 93 women from all over the world in the final competition held in Thailand’s capital.
