‘Belofied’ Amy Perez: Looking good any season
At 49, the Kapamilya TV host doesn’t look her age. She’s the happy wife of newsman Carlo Castillo and mom to three sons ranging in age from 21 to 6. In this interview, Amy talks about how to look young even as she turns Golden Girl.

It doesn’t have to be Christmas for Amy Perez to look constantly good (an understatement, actually!). Mondays through Fridays (sometimes even on weekends), Amy appears in ABS-CBN shows, thrice in a row daily (early morning on Umagang Kay Ganda, straight to Sakto and then to It’s Showtime), looking refreshed at all time and changing to three different attires. More than her genes, just like several other stars, Amy has The Belo Medical Clinic (TBMC) to thank for making her look good any season, through wet and dry days.

“I’ve been ‘Belofied’ and I’m happy for that,” Amy told Funfare.

Amy is 49 and she doesn’t look her age. She’s a mother of three sons — Adi, 21 (by her ex-husband Brix Ferraris); and Kyle, 10, and Isaiah, six years old, by newsman Carlo Castillo whom she married in 2014.

In a wintry family bonding away from her backbreaking work schedule, with husband Carlo and sons Adi, Kyle and Isaiah. ‘I don’t let my TV time distract me from my family quality time,’ says Amy.

How do you keep up with your back-breaking work schedule?

“I try to keep a very disciplined and balanced schedule. Our dinnertime is usually at 5:30 p.m. and we all go to bed by 7:30 p.m. I can only go out on dates with Carlo or friends either Friday or Saturday. On Sundays, we go to church at 11 a.m., then we have lunch or visit my parents or my in-laws or make pasyal.

“I wake up at 3:50 a.m. Monday to Friday then I do Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG) from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday UKG, I do my Pilates class then I go back to ABS-CBN for my radio dzMM program Sakto with Kuya Kim (Atienza), 10 to 11 a.m. After that, I go to Showtime, 12 noon to 4 p.m., and then I do my errands like paying the bills, doing grocery, etc. If wala naman, I go home right away. By 4:45 p.m., nasa house na ako with my boys.”

You have to always look good on TV. How does Belo help you in this aspect?

“Dr. Vicki Belo would see me from time to time. And then she would check my skin. Sasabihin niya, ‘You need to lift this area kasi medyo bumabagsak na, also to keep your skin hydrated you do this treatment.’ Also, I have my Belo days every Wednesday which is more like my me-time. I like that I’m being pampered in the clinic.”

What treatments are you getting at Belo?

“I did Kinetic Facelift. It’s a new treatment that Dra. Vicki recommended. It’s my golden year next year and alam mo naman na napaka-tight ng schedule ko. Plus, I am always on TV. So, it’s really important to me that I get to do something quick with lasting results with very minimal to no downtime. It’s Kinetic kasi walang heat. Basically, parang hangin na may dalang mga serums na mabilis na ini-infuse sa skin mo para mag-tighten at mag-lift. The serums will help in your skin re-modelling and the Kinetic energy used will help in the tightening. The results are instant. I walk out of the clinic and the next day back to my work agad.”

Any personal beauty regimen of your own?

“I make sure I remove my make-up right away and I always use Belo Sunblock every day. The best anti-aging product for your skin is sunscreen. Lagi yan bilin ni Dra. Vicki.”

With your tight work schedule, how much time do you set aside for your family?

“Every afternoon when I don’t have any errands I’m usually home with the boys. Saturday is my dinner and movie date with my Carlo. Every other Sunday naman, I go out on a separate date with my boys.”

Any (pieces of) advice to women your age?

“It’s very important that we are joyful and full of love so we can give all of that to our family.”

About Kinetic Facelift

• Kinetic Facelift using Enerjet works by accelerating a carrier fluid jet of high-mass molecules of hyaluronic acid (HA). Leveraging the power of HA, this triggers a cascade of wound healing, stimulating the subcutaneous tissues, including the Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System (SMAS) and temporal fascia.

• Jet Volumetric RemodelingTM powers the EnerJetTM. This needle-free proprietary technology simultaneously delivers kinetic energy and a healing compound with minimal epidermal damage, enabling a controlled deep injury profile effect for dermal remodeling.

• Intended for: Patients looking for the non-surgical facelift

• Duration: 30 to 45 minutes per session depending on area

• Downtime: Minimal to none

• Pain level: Moderate to almost none

• Recommended sessions: Two to three sessions done four weeks apart

• Results: Immediate tightening is seen after the procedure. Results are more visible after two to three months and can last up to a year.
