MANILA, Philippines — Apart from Philippine representative Jehza Huelar, another Filipina beauty queen stole the spotlight at the recently concluded Miss Supranational 2018 held in Poland.

Katrina Jayne Dimaranan, a Filipino-American beauty from San Juan City in the Philippines who grew up in Bay Area, California, finished as first runner-up at the prestigious beauty contest.

Although she represented USA in the pageant, Katrina expressed how proud she is of her Filipino roots and wrote on her Facebook account that she hoped she made her countries proud.

“Yes I’m FULL Filipina. Yes I was born in San Juan, Manila, Philippines. Yes I grew up all over the Bay Area, California. Yes I speak FLUENT Tagalog. And YES, I am very very proud of myself and I really hope I made my country USA proud, as well as all my Filipinos all over the world!” she wrote.

Apart from her supporters, the beauty queen also thanked her bashers for pushing her to do her best.

“Maraming salamat po talaga sa mga nag supporta at pati narin sa mga bashers kasi you both did the same thing for me, PUSH ME TO DO MY ABSOLUTE BEST! Love you, Love God,” she said.

The Filipino-American beauty was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Tourism 2012, where she also received the Best in Talent award.

She was crowned alongside Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2012 Janine Tugonon and Binibining Pilipinas International 2012 Nicole Schmitz.
