MANILA, Philippines — Norwegian electronic dance music (EDM) superstar Kygo arrived in Manila last October 25 for his much-awaited “Kids in Love” tour as part of his worldwide promotion for his second chart-topping studio album of the same title.
Thousands of Filipino fans gathered at the Mall of Asia Arena to witness and experience his live music, which, according to most fans, was life-changing.

Among those that enjoyed Kygo’s concert brought by Ovation Productions was young celebrity couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre, also known as the love team JaDine.
During the concert, JaDine freely expressed themselves and their affection for each other, making them the poster kids for the concert’s “Kids in Love” theme.
Kygo’s music has a certain appeal that no one can seem to really figure out; it just clicked and made sense to the younger generation that can appreciate his effervescent melodies combined with meaningful lyrics.

In addition to his current tracks under the “Kids in Love” album, he also performed some of his classics such as “Firestone,” the hit track that made him phenomenal all over the world.
In an interview, Kygo said that “Firestone” resonates strongly to people who are very much in love with each other — just like JaDine.
“Our hearts are like fire, Firestones. And when they strike, we feel the love; sparks will fly. They ignite our bones, and when they strike, we light up the world” — these lyrics, combined with the song’s “feel good” vibe, was definitely the highlight of Kygo’s Manila concert.
But out of the thousands who came, JaDine — who are very much in love — are probably the best representation of Kygo’s “Firestone.”
