Bretman rocks Darna costume for Halloween
MANILA. Philippines — Filipino-American social media personality Bretman Rock once again made buzz online as he donned the well-loved Filipino superheroine costume, Darna, in this year’s Halloween.
The Ilocano-born Rock said he chose Darna as his costume as he always identified with her given the superheroine’s personality.
He also described Darna as “a picture of a strong Filipino woman.”
“This year I wanted to pay tribute to My Filipino Super Hero – Darna,” Rock wrote on his Instagram post.
“Growing up I watched all of her Shows and Movies and I have always identified with her,” he added.
Darna is a fictional female superhero character created by comic artist Mars Ravelo. Her human form is Narda who is known for swallowing a magic white stone as she transforms into a fierce superheroine clad in a red and gold sexy two-piece outfit by shouting "Darna!"
Rock, known for being a beauty influencer and for his humorous posts, uploaded video of him showing off his Darna costume across his social media accounts. He even used Kamikazee’s “Narda” as background music as he modeled the superheroine costume.
The video has since been viewed by over 1.7 million times on Instagram, over 133,000 times on Facebook and more than 780,000 on Twitter.
