Filipina almost wins â��Asia's Next Top Model Cycle 6â��

MANILA, Philippines — Adela-Mae Marshall, the last Filipina standing in the sixth cycle of hit modeling reality TV show “Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6,” has finished at second place in the competition, losing the title to Dana Slosar of Thailand.

Although Adela-Mae has the same 31.6 final average as Dana, Adela-Mae finished with a 252.9 total score, just a few points short of Dana’s 253.1 total score in the competition that wrapped up on Wednesday.

Congratulations @dsloz you absolutely went #BeyondLimits and I couldn’t be happier for you. @miasabathy what can I say we put up a good fight but we are just too good at being runners up ???? I’m proud of us regardless. I remember when we first met and talked about how scary it was going into another version of ‘Next Top Model’ wondering if it was possible to do as well as we had previously done on a larger scale but I’m glad we made it to the Top 3 together. To @cindysirinya and @yutsai88 thank you for guiding and moulding us throughout the whole competition, thank you for seeing something in me I couldn’t even see myself and hopefully this won’t be the last of me you see! To @minhtu_nguyen you were the best mentor I could have asked for. You pushed me in ways I never could have imagined and reminded me why I answered you name during my audition when I was asked for one of my favourite contests from previous cycles. All the best in your future endeavours. To my family @ekb.marshall @daoooh and @sabrinabaranda and all those who couldn’t make it. Thank you for loving me, thank you for being there for me and thanks for supporting me. You have all helped shape me into the woman I am today and I couldn’t imagine where I’d be without you. Now that @asntm is I want to give a special thank you to all of our producers, crew, digital team, hair teams, makeup teams (@maccosmeticsthailand) and our incredible stylist @priscillaianson people tend to get carried away with the glamour of the competition but literally none of it would have possible without you guys. Finally, last but not least ang bayan ko. Sabi ko noon, ‘Laban Pilipinas,’ and kahit hindi ako manalo ngayon I will continue to try and represent the Philippines in the best way I can. "I'm sorry I couldn't bring home the title for a back-to-back win but I hope I was able to show you na pusong Pinoy ako,” the half-British Marshall said on Instagram.

“I hope I was able to represent the Philippines well and I hope to be able to see you soon...or maybe you’ll be seeing me.”

During the contest’s final challenge, the top three, Dana, Adela-Mae and Mia Sabathy of Taiwan, were asked to pose with their family for the final shoot.

Adela-Mae admitted she was bothered by the absence of her mom, her source of inspiration and strength, in the shoot, which affected her performance.

The final photo, nonetheless, was commended by the judges.

"The thing with you Adela is that you are very professional… Every single week we give you tips and you come back the next week and nail it in a way that it really shows that you take everything we say to heart," said Cindy Bishop, the show's head judge and host.

Likewise, Marshall struggled with her final runway walk, which judges said looked “rushed.”

"You were trying to go for a more commanding walk to maybe break the illusion of your sweet outfit," Bishop commented. "There's a way to have a strong walk without going fast. It's driving that feet forward, giving that sense of power in every stride, not rushing it."

Though she was unable to give the Philippines a back-to-back win, after Maureen Wroblewitz gave the country its first victory in cycle 5, Adela-Mae is grateful for the opportunity to have represented the country.

“Sabi ko noon, ‘Laban Pilipinas,’ and kahit hindi ako manalo ngayon I will continue to try and represent the Philippines in the best way I can,” she avowed.
