Aquino said his legal teams tried to settle the dispute “amicably,” but the subjects of her theft complaint ignored her.
She then issued a warning against the people who allegedly double-crossed her, and accentuated her message with an Instagram video that plays Taylor Swift’s revenge track “Look What You Made Me Do” in the background.
“My family had advocated for peace BUT the other party failed to even meet us halfway and instead chose to spread malicious lies & falsehoods. I wanted to quietly put this painful chapter behind me,” Kris wrote on Instagram.
“Kilala nyo na po ako — hindi ako ang nagsisimula ng away, pero hindi po ako pinalaki para urungan ang pakikipaglaban para sa katotohanan (You know me — I didn’t start the beef, but my parents did not raise someone who doesn’t know how to fight for the truth),” she added.
Aquino — one of the country’s highest paid celebrities — recently opened up about her financial woes, claiming she experienced “financial abuse” and “total lack of respect” after being allegedly deceived by partners in her two business ventures.
She has sought the help of lawyer Sig Fortun and former solicitor general Florin Hilbay.
Aquino said she fears that “tens of tax paid millions from my sons’ trust funds” will be lost due to the incident, adding that the legal battle has taken a toll on her health.
“Sinimulan niyo, kaya tatapusin ko (You started it, I will finish it),” she said.
