MANILA, Philippines — Beginning this Saturday, Oct. 6, Gil Cuerva is the new co-host of GMA News TV’s lifestyle show, Taste Buddies.
The actor-model will be replacing Rhian Ramos as Solenn’s co-host. The announcement was made during a set visit last Sept. 25 at Perry’s Restaurant, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
A self-confessed foodie and travel enthusiast, Gil is sure to add fun and new flavor to the program as its first-ever male co-host. See the other side of Gil as he shares with viewers’ insights about the food and activities he tries his hand at.
Solenn and Gil will live up to the show’s tagline, Basta Masarap, Go!, where they do fun activities and feature delicious meals every week.
According to Solenn, having a male co-host is a breath of fresh air. “After Bel (Isabel Daza), we had Iya (Villania). After Iya, we had Rhian, and now si Gil naman ang makakasama ko. So, iba-ibang yung flavors of the year at ito namang si Gil ang pinaka-first na boy na co-host ko, kaya pwede akong maging malandi dito, di ba (laughs)? I’m sure having Gil in the show will really be fun. He will bring a new dynamic since he is a guy and I cannot wait for our adventures together. It will be an interesting mix and viewers should watch out for it,” she shared.
In his first episode for Taste Buddies, Gil brings Solenn to Novotel Araneta’s Sabor Bar de Vinos. The two enjoy a fine dining experience over savory Spanish tapas and extensive wine varieties.
At the same time, Solenn gets to know more about her new co-host as they play a fun Q&A game. Will Gil survive the “grilling” of his new food buddy?
In another upcoming episode, Solenn and Gil with guest Max Collins will visit the Instagram-worthy restaurant Perry’s to sample its specialty teas.
Taste Buddies airs Saturdays from 8:45 to 9:15 p.m.
