What ‘Completes’ them

Opening nationwide on Wednesday, Sept. 19, is Viva Films’ Abay Girls, directed by Don Cuaresma, which is about five high school friends reunited for a wedding of what they thought was the “most unlikely” bride (played by Roxanne Barcelo). The four other stars are Cristine Reyes, Meg Imperial, Kylie Verzosa and Nathalie Hart. In a “complete the sentence” game, the five girls reveal their innermost feelings.

• My worst moment was... when I got stuck in Hong Kong recently doing nothing, due to NAIA runway chaos.

Roxanne Barcelo

• I avoid people who... find joy in negativity and those who find pleasure in bringing other people down.

• My greatest pleasure... is spending quality time with my family. Mahal na mahal ko sina Nanay, Tatay at ang kapatid kong si Tim.

• My worst moment was... when I had my first heartbreak. Super iyak, halumpasay and ngal-ngal! Ang OA! ‘Yon pala kayang-kaya! LOL!

• My biggest fear is... secret!

• I pray for... the health, happiness, and fulfilled long lives of my parents so we may enjoy the fruits of our labor together.

• The most important persons in my life are... Nanay, Tatay, Tim and all my best friends who I consider my family.

• If I were to be reincarnated as an animal, I would be... a phoenix.

• My most traumatic experience was... when my brother got bitten by a half pitbull when he was three years old. My Nanay became a supermom that day.

• The type of men that turns me on is... decisive, committed to his goals, not afraid to show emotion, has a very fun energy, is intelligent and confident. I love a man who values his family and friends.

• My philosophy in life is... to constantly re-assess my life and find ways to achieve happiness and fulfillment with whatever situation I am in.

• I lose my temper when... you mess with my family or friends.. but I do my best to avoid situations like that.

• When I’m alone in my room, I fantasize about... finally being found by the one God is preparing for me. But for now, I am being prayerful and hopeful.

• If I were somebody else, I would be... RoxeeB dahil ibang magmahal ang isang morena. She is my alter ego. Everything I thought I couldn’t do or feel, she is able to attain.

• I am happiest when... I dance the boogie with my parents or dance to ’90s hip-hop with my friends.

• I am saddest when... my parents are disappointed with my mistakes.

• My ultimate goal in life is... to have my own family and be an amazing wife and mother like my Nanay. My Tatay made it so difficult for me to find my match because he set such a high standard of being a great man and father.

• What I like about myself is... I am full of love, sincerity and truth. I am far from perfect but I try to be excellent in all I do and try to give 100 percent to every moment.

• What I don’t like about myself is... I may prioritize others before me.
