WATCH: Anne Curtis on weight gain jokes amid pregnancy rumors

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actor Jhong Hilario may have spilled some beans regarding his “It’s Showtime” co-host Anne Curtis’ baby plans. 

In a “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment in the noontime show where they interviewed a 28-year-old female contestant, Jhong said: “Eh, ‘di ba sabi nila nahihirapan na daw manganak pag ganyan,” pertaining to the contestant’s baby plan. 

“Pero hindi ako naniniwala dun kasi si Anne nga, e. Magkakaanak daw siya ng ano… next year ba?” Jhong revealed.

“Secret. Maka-private conversation ka naman,” Anne replied to Jhong, to which the “Ang Probinsyano” antagonist replied: “Kaya nga hindi ako sigurado, nagtatanong ako 'di ba? Eh ‘di sige secret.” 

Recently, Philstar.com interviewed the “Buy Bust” star in a Pantene event where she and sister Jasmine Curtis were introduced as endorsers.

Though Anne requested not to be asked personal questions, including about her rumored pregnancy sparked by Jhong’s joke, she said she is not in any way affected by jokes made by her “It’s Showtime” co-hosts.

“No, (I’m not affected), sobrang hindi. Happy ako eh!” she exclaimed with a laugh.

She said, she is also not affected by body shaming or netizens’ speculations that she is expecting because she seemed to have gained some weight.

She thinks she might not be as thin as she used to be because she is now 33. In fact, she said, she envies the current face and body of her sister, Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

“Ang masasabi ko nga, iba talaga ang youth. Lagi ko nga sinasabi kay Jasmine, dadating ka din sa 33!” quipped Anne. — Video by EC Toledo IV
