No more hesitation from Kathryn

Kathryn Bernardo is a superstar of this generation. Through the years, we’ve seen how she transformed into a fine young lady. She has a pleasant character that shows how well-loved she is by her family, friends and fans.

But how did Kath learn to decide for herself and how did her relationship level up with Daniel Padilla, who is also the apple of her eyes in The Hows of Us that continues to rake at the tills?

It was only recently when Kath and Daniel admitted that they are real sweethearts for five years already and going stronger and lovelier with the passing of days. Kath said it felt good to finally let people know even while their affection for each other is obvious. Action speaks louder than words, as they say.

Like other relationships, Kath admitted theirs is not always “a bed of roses” moment. They also argue. But what if they feel like giving up? How did Kath and Daniel succeed in keeping their love strong?

“You go back to the start,” Kath said. “Then think why did you commit yourself to a relationship and why do you love that person; can you see your future with the person? If yes, then try to save it as long as you can. DJ (Daniel) and I are like that so you will see it in the movie and there were parts that really felt similar to us. Somehow, they will see the love story of DJ and Kath although my character George is very different from my personality.”

Daniel, in an episode of Tonight with Boy Abunda, said he’s dreaming of having a beach wedding and Kath was surprised, saying, “Did he really say that? It is me who dreams of having a beach wedding. But it’s good that he changed his mind because he said he wants a church wedding with many people invited. I want a beach wedding ever since but it’s good that he now also wants a beach wedding (laughs).” Her answers reflected how Kath no longer hesitates to reveal what is in her heart. Besides, she is not a teener anymore. She is now 22.

Kathryn’s parents already allowed her to go on a vacation abroad with Daniel but, of course, still with friends. They went to Chiang Mai and it was the first time for Kath to be independent ­— in managing herself and her finances.

“Iba ‘yung feeling din na ikaw yung responsible sa maleta mo, kung anong gate ka sa airport…it’s a liberating feeling na yes, wala tayo sa Pinas, di kilala ng tao, binu-budget yung pera kasi kulang yung dala namin so ang saya,” she revealed.

Even when she’s here in the country, Kath barely has cash in her wallet. She often borrows from friends for transactions that require cash.

“I often use a card when in shooting or taping. Sometimes, Mama gives me P500, P1,000 for food. Sometimes, it’s not enough, manlilibre pa ko, kaya sasabihin ko guys di kaya ng budget, di kayo pasok sa libre,” she amusingly said.

Kath went on to share about her boyfriend’s same dilemma. “One time, DJ had no money for parking in the basement. We have no cash most of the time, card lang so pag di tumatanggap delikado.”

How do you sleep?

“Always sideways to the right with a pillow.”

How do you want your coffee?

“Super sweet with lots of milk.”

How do you spend your free time?

“I work out or just stay at home.”

How long do you shower?

“It takes me so long — about 20 to 30 minutes.”

How many dogs do you have?

“I have six, namely Pablo, Tala, Cloud, Snow, Summer and Storm. I’ve no favoritism (laughs).

How do you know when DJ is mad?

“He’s quiet. We’re both quiet that’s why they (people) know when there’s a problem.”

How do you know when DJ is disappointed?

“You won’t see him.”

How do you know when DJ is grumpy in the morning?

“From 1 to 10 ­­— nine pero pag sa ibang tao 10, mas masungit siya sa iba.”

How do you make lambing to DJ?

“I’m very clingy, gusto ko laging hawak siya.”

How do you kiss? Do you close your eyes?

“Fast lang. Yes, I think it’s weird if not. And every time we kiss naman, it should be full of love because kung wala ma fe-feel yun, so it has to be passionate when kissing.”

How do you love?

“All out.”
