Waze responds to Rufa Mae Quinto’s audition as navigation voice

MANILA, Philippines — A week after actress Rufa Mae Quinto posted a video on her YouTube channel showing her auditioning as a Waze navigation voice, the navigating mobile app responded to the comedian’s request on Twitter.

“Hey @imrufamaequinto, no need to audition. You can make your very own Waze Voice using your Waze app. Just head to Settings > Voice Directions & get recording. Bonus: you can share them with everyone via a link,” Waze tweeted.

The “Home Sweetie Home” mainstay also posted on her Instagram account a screen cap image of the navigation app’s tweet. She captioned her post: “Grabe yung ka tweet ko ang waze and gusto nila ako gumawa ng waze voice ko! Haha ! Salamat sa lahat. @waze”

Uploaded in August 4, Rufa Mae’s video now has over 500,000 views and almost 3,000 comments on YouTube.

“Pag traffic mawawala ang badtrip mo ‘pag ganito si Waze...hahaha,” a netizen commented on Rufa Mae’s audition video. 

Another netizen commented: “Haha iniimagine ko siya talaga ung voice nung waze, tipong makakabangga ka na sabay sabi niya ‘go lang ng go, todo mo na’.”

Some netizens want Ruffa Mae to collaborate with another comedian, Ethel Booba, as navigation voice.
