‘Kaibigan’ star Stephen Baldwin pays courtesy call on Duterte
MANILA, Philippines— President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday met Hollywood actor and film producer Stephen Baldwin, who is in the Philippines to shoot a movie.
Baldwin paid a courtesy call on Duterte at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Manila in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City.
The American actor, who has appeared in “The Usual Suspects,” “Bio-Dome,” “The Flintsones in Viva Rock Vegas,” and “Born on the Fourth of July”, will star in an upcoming drug-themed movie titled “Kaibigan”, which is being shot in the Philippines.
The Palace reported that Baldwin said one of the reasons for creating ‘Kaibigan’ was to send an important message to the youth on the consequences of making the wrong life choices.
He will join Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson. Cesar Montano — the actor and former Trade Promotions Board COO whose expenses during his frequent trips abroad have been flagged by government auditors — is also involved in the film.
Actress Jean Garcia, actor Alvin Anson and the Perkin Twins, Christian and Jesse, are also in the cast of "Kaibigan."
The film held its press conference on July 27.
