MANILA, Philippines — Best friends Coco Martin and Vice Ganda’s separate films were both selected to enter the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) this December. Though Coco will be in a film with Kapuso star Vic Sotto and reportedly with another Kapuso star, Maine Mendoza, Coco clarified that there is no brewing rivalry between him and Vice Ganda.
In an interview with the media during his launch as King Cup Sardines endorser, the “Ang Probinsyano” star said Vice knew that he wants to work with veteran comedian Vic.
When asked what his and Vic’s movie is all about, Coco explained: “Ito ay isa mga pinakamalaking action-comedy na gagawin namin.
Directed by Rodel Nacianceno, the true name of Coco, and under MZet, APT and CCM Productions, “Popoy En Jack: The Puliscredibles” is a concept of Coco in collaboration with Vic.
“This time kwento ko eh.
The “Primetime King” refused to name his leading lady because he said it is not yet final. Reports said that Maine Mendoza is now officially a member of the cast.
For his part, Vice Ganda earlier said that he would love to work with Coco again.
“Pero as far as I know, matagal na niyang naplano na tumandem with Bossing. There’s no problem though. That’s normal as actors to work with different artists. We’re still the best of friends,” the “It’s Showtime” host said.
