MANILA, Philippines — For the third time in a row, model-turned-actress Ellen Adarna failed to show up again at the preliminary investigation for her child abuse and cybercrime complaints filed at the Pasig City Prosecutor’s office.
In a text message to ABS-CBN showbiz reporter MJ Felipe, complainant Myra Santos accused Ellen’s camp of delaying the case.
"I'm very, very disappointed with the turnout of today's hearing. Ms. Ellen has been given more than 1 month to answer the charges and to ask for a resetting again and for 2 more weeks pa is sobra na. Maybe their play is to delay the case but my quest for justice for my daughter is unwavering," Myra said.
The preliminary investigation was originally scheduled on June 4. It was reset to June 11 and only John Lloyd Cruz attended the investigation for the cases against his girlfriend.
According to a TV5 report, John Lloyd allegedly mentioned Ellen’s pregnancy as the reason why she cannot attend the preliminary investigation for the cases filed against her.
Myra, the mother of the teenage girl accused by Ellen in her Instagram stories as a "paparazzi," filed the complaints after the actress failed to issue a public apology.
Ellen is facing a violation of RA 7610 or Anti-Child Abuse Law and RA 10175 or Anti-Cybercrime Law.
