MANILA, Philippines — Celebrities have expressed their dismay over President Rodrigo Duterte’s new tirade against the Catholic Church.
Speaking in the opening of the 2018 National ICT Summit in Davao City, Duterte questioned God’s logic in the creation story of the Bible.

"Who is this stupid God? Estupido talaga itong p***** i** kung ganun. You created something perfect and then you think of an event that would tempt and destroy the quality of your work," he said.
On her Instagram post, actress Rita Avila said Duterte only respects himself.
"This is a reflection of you, Mr. President. You only respect yourself. You look at us like garbage cans where you freely throw your trash. Wag naman ganun. Tao kami," Rita wrote.
She also has a message for Duterte supporters.
“To all Duterte fans, I held much hope in him. But sorry, this is too much. You can only help spreading more trash by bashing and hating but I wish you spread GOOD WORDS instead to help clean all of us up," she wrote.
A known Duterte critic, singer-actress Agot Isidro had brief words for the president as she shared the news about Duterte calling God stupid.
“Pitiful, decaying, old man,” the Famas Best Actress wrote.
Also a known as a Duterte critic and a former President Benigno Aquino III supporter, singer Jim Paredes penned an open letter through a Twitter post addressed to Duterte.
“Dear Dut. Du you really need to insult the Catholics and Christians. Must you keep creating enemies? or do you really have mental illness, dementia, psychosis, etc.. and you can’t help it? In short, are you still in charge of your mental faculties?” the APO Hiking Society member wrote.

He also asked Duterte what he can say about other religions.
“What can you say about the Muslim and Jewish faith, Dut? You seem to be quite a theologian now.. Pls be candid as you are regarding the Christian faith. We are awaiting your profound insights.”
In another Tweet, Jim prayed for God to “Pls bless all stupid leaders and their followers” and “Heal their stupidity.”
