Julie Anne counts her blessings
MANILA, Philippines — They say that love and career don’t go together. Not in the case of JuIie Anne San Jose who enjoys the best of both worlds.
Julie Anne has been going steady with fellow Kapuso Benjamin Alves for two years now. But love doesn’t get in the way of her career. She is busy with various projects aside from her ongoing daytime soap My Guitar Princess and Sunday PinaSaya. She graces the last print cover of Cosmopolitan magazine and will release another single titled Tayong Dalawa under Universal Records next month.
When she turned 24 last May 17, Julie Anne didn’t ask for any material thing but only good health for her and her loved ones.
“Love, peace and happiness for everyone. Bonus na lang po yung material things,” Julie Anne said during a recent presscon. “I hope to have more time with my family and to travel more. I’m so grateful and blessed to be surrounded by people close to me.”
Julie Anne added that she’s happy and thankful because her parents approve Benjamin.
“Yes, may blessing po. Wala naman pong bawal as long as hindi ko pinapabayaan ang sarili ko… as long as pinagbubuti ko naman yung work ko,” said Julie Anne who got a surprise from Benjamin on her birthday. “I was at the My Guitar Princess taping and I didn’t expect him to show up on the set. Nag-usap pa kami sa phone, nag-good night. Then, all of a sudden, pumasok siya. Kinuntsaba niya pala ‘yung crew para i-surprise ako.”
What was Benjamin’s birthday gift?
“Secret, hehehe!” Julie Anne replied. “Basta it doesn’t have to be any special occasion for us to give each other gifts. His presence is more important than anything else. We’re not materialistic people naman kasi. As much as possible we prefer ‘yung simple lang. Mas importante ang makapag-spend time together. But lately, we haven’t been able to spend time together so sa Facetime na lang, calls na lang ganun. As long as I know that I have him and he has me, that we have each other, that is what’s important.”
