MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ so-called “Total Performer” Darren Espanto had an extended celebration of his 17th birthday last May 24 with a sold-out concert at the Kia Theater on May 26.
In his concert dubbed “Unstoppable,” the Filipino-Canadian singing sensation performed his trending hits like “Dying Inside To Hold You,” before blowing the candle on his birthday cake.
Fans were also astounded by Darren’s “This is the Moment” duet with “Concert King” Martin Nievera. He also made unforgettable performances with Jayda Avanzado, daughter of singing royalties Dingdong Avanzado and Jessa Zaragoza; as well as with “Queen of Soul and R&B” Kyla.
As tribute to “Mr. Pure Energy” Gary Valenciano, who was supposed to be part of the concert but had to cancel to fully recover from emergency heart surgery, Gary’s son, Gab, gave out a heart-warming dance performance.
Apart from Espanto, the show featured a myriad of artists like rising stars Kyle Echarri and AC Bonifacio; and the legendary dance group Manoeuvres Ignite.
Despite the recent news of undergoing of emergency heart surgery - which unfortunately led him to cancel his appearance at “Unstoppable” for him to be able to fully recover (which in Valenciano’s words was “unfortunate because I was looking forward to the show so much), the show is pulling-out all the stops as none other than the legendary “Concert King” Martin Nievera will be there to rightfully fill the proverbial gigantic shoes of one of the country’s biggest veteran performers.
“Unstoppable” is produced by MCA Music.
