MANILA, Philippines — Young rapper Abra scores his first Best Actor nomination at the 41st Gawad Urian for his performance in the movie “Respeto.”
Known for his rapping style and ability, Abra impressed critics in his first acting role as Hendrix, a young man who dreams of being a hip-hop icon.

Abra started his career as a Fliptop artist on YouTube. He rose to fame after his song "Gayuma" made it to the mainstream. He also made a collaboration single with Arci Munoz, KZ Tandingan, Chito Miranda, Raimund Marasigan and Julie Anne San Jose.
