IV of Spades reveals plans after vocalist quits
MANILA, Philippines — Emerging OPM band IV of Spades’ remaining members refused to talk about the issue regarding their vocalist leaving the band.
In an interview with the media at the recent red carpet of Myx Music Awards 2018 at the Araneta Coliseum, bassist Zild Benitez, guitarist Blaster Silonga and drummer Badjao de Castro did not want to talk about Unique Salonga leaving the band.
“I don’t want to talk about it. Sorry,” Zild said, but he assured their fans that they will keep on creating music and performing for them.
“Hindi naman maapektuhan ‘yung grupo, mag-iiba lang,” he added.
When asked if they are in a good relationship with Unique, Blaster only said: “Interview him.”
Since the band name is IV of Spades and they are now only three, will the band have a new name?
“IV of Spades is a band name. It’s not a number of members,” the drummer said, ending speculations from netizens that the band will be renamed.
IV of Spades was honored at the Myx Music Awards as the “New Artist of the Year” and bagged “Myx Bandarito Performer of the Year.”
Heavily inspired by ‘70s fashion, acts and sound, the band rose to fame after their single “Ilaw sa Daan” was released last year, followed by “Hey Barbara” and “Where Have You Been My Disco?”.
This year, the band released their fourth studio version single called "Mundo.” It became the group's highest viewed single on YouTube with over 50 million views.
But in a sudden turn of events, the band’s three remaining members announced last May 5 that Unique officially left the band to "continue with his personal endeavors."
