Dagupeña is 2018 Miss Asian International

MANILA, Philippines — Gerina Chanel Ancheta (photo) of Dagupan, Pangasinan was crowned as 2018 Miss Asian International in Bangkok on March 3, defeating 18 other beauties including her runners-up from Australia, China and Thailand.  She also won special awards: Best in National Costume (she donned a Muslim-inspired ensemble by RF Atelier), Miss Smile, Prestige’s Upfront Modeling Agency’s Choice and Missosology’s Choice. At 17, Gerina Chanel was the youngest candidate. 

Gerina Chanel is a senior high school student at the University of Pangasinan where she was crowned 2016 Miss SHS Sports Fest. Last December, she was adjudged 2017 Miss Balon Dagupan first runner-up, Miss Photogenic, Best in Swimwear, Best in Formal Wear, Best in Business Attire, Miss Creamsilk and People’s Choice Award; and in May, she placed fourth runner-up in 2017 Miss Magic.
