Viewers can finally enter the world of Sansinukob and experience an epic adventure with five brave, ordinary individuals-turned-heroes of the land as ABS-CBN presents its newest fantaserye Bagani.
Produced by ABS-CBN’s Star Creatives, the series follows the story of Lakas (Enrique Gil), Ganda (Liza Soberano), Lakam (Matteo Guidicelli), Dumakulem (Makisig Morales) and Mayari (Sofia Andres) — five different people from five different regions of Sansinukob.
Enrique’s Lakas is from a clan of warriors exiled to the dry lands because of an unexpected circumstance
The show aims to teach viewers the values of courage, love, justice, resilience and hope as embodied by the five main characters.
Lakas hails from the desert region found in north of Sansinukob. He is from a clan of warriors exiled to the dry lands because of an unexpected circumstance. Despite getting bullied for being the son of a woman tagged by everyone as a traitor, Lakas remains strong-willed, loving and driven to uplift the name of his fellowmen and fight until the end for his loved ones.
Ganda, on the other hand, hails from the farm region located just below the desert region. Her clan is best described as the most hardworking, good-hearted and joyful, with its people also known as merrymakers. That is why it is no surprise Ganda grew up to be a loving and responsible younger sister to the leader of their region. She may have a sweet, innocent face but she is feisty and willing to sacrifice herself just to secure and stabilize her family and clan.
On the west side of the desert and farm territories lies a big wall that marks the boundaries of the trade region where Lakam lives. The people from this region are also the most creative, most stylish and most cunning in Sansinukob, and they belong to the richest clan. Lakam seems to have everything already but the young dignified man still longs for one thing — his father’s love.
Liza as Ganda may have a sweet, innocent face but she is feisty and willing to sacrifice herself just to secure and stabilize her family
The land of Sansinukob doesn’t end there and continues down south where the forest and sea regions can be found.
Dumakulem belongs to the forest region inhabited by a clan that considers nature sacred and survives by harvesting fruits and hunting food in the wild. Unlike most forest people who are satisfied living in isolation from the outside world, Dumakulem longs to explore the world outside the forest. Naturally charming and fun-loving, he considers his family and people the most important things to him and will protect them at any cost.
Meanwhile, Mayari, hailing from the sea region, was born a slave. Her clan, who uses boats to fish for livelihood, has high regard for social order and believes everyone has a role in society, which they cannot change. Despite being a slave, Mayari is hopeful that she will rise above her position, be set free and finally be with the noble man whom she loves.
Each one of them possesses a particular skill that makes them a cut above the rest within the clans they belong to. Apart from these skills, it is the goodness of their hearts and willingness to sacrifice themselves for their people that make them deserving to be heroes.
Will they succeed in their quest to protect and restore peace in Sansinukob?
Bagani airs weeknights after FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
