MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actor Gary Valenciano kicks-off the year-long celebration of his 35th anniversary in the industry with the much-awaited reprise of his critically acclaimed Valentine concert “Love In Motion,” which will be staged on February 14, Valentine’s Day, at the grand ballroom of Shangri-La Hotel in Bonifacio Global City, The Fort.
Directed by Gary and Angeli’s son, Paolo Valenciano, with musical direction by Mel Villena and vocal musical direction by Mon Faustino, “Love In Motion” first had a two-night run in 2017, marking Gary’s very first solo Valentine concert in Manila in almost 20 years.
The concert was originally conceptualized as a special, two-night Valentine concert that aimed to offer 100 percent of its proceeds for the benefit of victims of Typhoon Nina, which hit Gary’s hometown in Camalig, Albay, Bicol in late 2016, as well the Shining Light Foundation’s scholarship programs, and UNICEF causes. Gary and his team, along with representatives of Operation Blessing Foundation, visited Bicol in May 2017 and tendered two free concerts at the evacuation centers.
A historic milestone in Gary’s illustrious career, “Love In Motion” featured him performing with the amazing 18-piece AMP Band for the very first time, and the multi-talented Cebuana Anna Fegi and the Manoeuvres. The concert was a big-band show that showcased a different side of Gary as he crooned his way to the hearts of his audiences, with a delicious sampling of standard classics and iconic jazz tunes as well as a selection of his hits that were especially re-arranged to fit the big-band genre.
To spice things up, “Birit Queen” Jona will join Gary as his very special guest. Jona is one of today’s most talented young divas whose growing body never ceases to blow away fans and critics alike. It should be noted that “Love In Motion” marks the very first major concert that Gary will perform with Jona.
