Bryan Termulo: Prince of teleserye theme songs
While he is dubbed Prince of Teleserye Themesongs and has gained a good reputation as a talented cover artist, singer Bryan Termulo still looks forward to breaking more grounds as far as his music career is concerned. His ultimate goal: to score a hit original song or two that his very voice can truly lay claim to.
That dream of having an original song to his name is now realized with the release of his single Agwat under Ivory Music and Video.
It’s one thing to be acknowledged rendering an already popular track like Regine Velasquez’s Dadalhin, which he delivered to good acclaim as theme to that well-followed series Walang Hanggan. It’s another thing to be identified with a new hit song and you’re the voice behind it.
“Dream ko talaga na makilala ako sa at least isa o dalawang hit original songs. Gusto ko yung sasabayan ako ng nanonood o nakikinig sa akin dahil kilala nila yung kanta at alam nila na ako ang nagpasikat nun,” shared Bryan.
Such lofty, but doable dream is no doubt one of the main thrusts for his career at this point. One thing going for him is the fact he is now under the guidance of Asia Artists Agency (AAA), a talent management that houses a strong stable of performing acts.
Bryan acknowledges that with the backing of a management company, his career plans can be more solidified. “Now that it is official, I feel that my vision as an artist will be realized.”
Elaborating more on his vision to become a voice with hit songs of its own, he said, “Iba rin talaga kapag magkakaroon ako ng kanta na tatak Bryan at hindi tatak ng ibang artist na may version ako.”
The song Agwat written by Bryan Lotho is a ballad about long-distance relationships and he sure sings it with some raise-the-bar touch. And he calls it, “Bryan’s version 2.0.”
Social media savvy himself, he does a video-blog, which he fondly calls as LakBryan. He very much makes use of his cellphone and other gadgets to connect with fans and even natives of remote places he reaches. A good WiFi connection during a gig means fans get to see him live online.
Versatile that he is, he also studied the Russian language and knows a number of Russian songs that he hopes he can sing live if given the proper venue. His knowledge of the language was put to good use when he visited Russia to study at the Bashkir University in Ufa for almost a month.
Why he has the urge to take such difficult challenge is probably his instinct as a clean, fun man. He doesn't smoke nor drink. And, comic punchline intended, he couldn’t even finish a glass of wine while on a plane.
“I think it’s in my upbringing. We were brought up in the house to be always righteous as much as possible. That’s why it’s never in my system to have vices,” he shared.
Bryan first earned public attention after placing runner up in Pinoy Pop Superstar 3. He came out with his debut album Begin in 2010 and followed it up with the gold record Hanggang Ngayon two years later.
Some of his noted teleserye songs were Kung Maibabalik for Honesto, Sa Isang Sulyap Mo for Juan Dela Cruz and Kailan for Ina, Kapatid, Anak.
As TV actor, he appeared on ABS-CBN’s Budoy, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala and Dream Dad.
Bryan’s positivity may just lead to some great development as he keeps going, noting, “I always keep on praying for good things to happen. I don’t put pressure to anything. If it happens, it does. You just have to keep working hard all the time while enjoying life.”
No wonder this fine, good-looking gentleman has survived 10 long years in the biz. He certainly has the right mindset to go with his talents.
