MANILA, Philippines — Alden Richards, Judy Ann Santos, Carla Abellana and Billy Crawford were among the celebrities that crowned the winners and joined the models of Miss Possibilities Foundation’s Pageant and Celebrity Inclusive Fashion Show, a beauty pageant and runway show for special children, held last December 2 at the Henry Irwin Theater of the Ateneo University in Quezon City.
Claimed to be the first of its kind in Asia, the beauty pageant and runway show has been designed for women and girls with ages 12 and above. It aims to create “a place where all of us are included and celebrated for all of our differences,” said Suzanna Pavadee Vichienrut Yuzon, Founder and President of Miss Possibilities Foundation.
In a statement, Yuzon said the foundation aims to build “a community filled with unconditional love and empathy for every fellow human being; a place where beauty knows no boundaries.”
Through the pageant and the fashion show, the foundation also targets to create social awareness of people with special needs and their important role in society; build the self-confidence of young people with special needs and celebrate their life accomplishments; redefine the meaning of true beauty and showcase inner beauty; and promote inclusiveness for citizens with special needs in the community.
The pageant received national recognition from GMA, CNN, ABS-CBN and many other media organizations as the first pageant for people with special needs in Asia.
Among the celebrities who gave kids with special needs an early Christmas treat this year were Alfred Vargas, Nina Ricci Alagao, Pops Fernandez and Anna Roces.
Last year, over 30 celebrities joined the show, including Judy Ann Santos, Team Kramer and Heart Evangelista.
