MANILA, Philippines — As of posting time, the Philippines’ Miss Supranational 2017 bet Chanel Olive Thomas comes second to Miss Vietnam in the international beauty pageant's Facebook poll.

Miss Vietnam so far leads the online votes with 188,000, while Miss Philippines comes second with 83,000.

They are followed by the following countries in the poll:

Indonesia – 42,000

Myanmar – 13,000

Mexico – 3,300

Peru – 2,200

Colombia – 1,700

Venezuela – 1,600

Thailand – 1,500

Ecuador with 1,400

Suriname – 1,300

Brazil – 1,100

According to the pageant, the winner of the poll will automatically get a spot in the top 25 and will bag the Miss Internet special award.

The 65 contestants have competed in the evening gown preliminary competition on November 24 and in the swimsuit competition on November 27.

During the swimsuit portion, Chanel wore a bejeweled red bikini by Edwin Uy.

The reigning Miss Supranational, Srinidhi Shetty of India, will crown her successor on December 1, 8 p.m. (around 3 a.m. of December 2 in Philippine time) at the spa resort city of Krynica Zdroj in Poland.

The Philippines has so far won only once in Miss Supranational. Mutya Datul became the first Filipino and Asian to win the title in 2013.

Last year’s representative, Joanna Eden, was a quarterfinalist.

Will Chanel prevail to give the Philippines its second Supranational crown?

Another Filipino, Yves Campos, is also in Poland to compete in Mister Supranational 2017, Miss Supranational’s male counterpart, to be held on December 2.
