MANILA, Philippines — The Opening Night and Awards Night of the seventh International Film Festival Manhattan (IFFM) was held last Oct. 18 at the Kalayaan Hall of The Philippine Consulate General in New York City. Baby Nebrida’s film Across The Crescent Moon was screened. Filipino actors took home the acting awards as well.

• Lifetime Achievement Award in Event Producing: Fernando Mendez (USA);

• Best Student Film: Children in Suits, directed by Samson Pojdl (USA);

• IFFM Most Popular Film: Galit Na Aso, directed by Ankit Rawat (India/Philippines), Leon Miguel #IFFMNYC2017 Promo;

• Best Cinematography: Ocean Jet - Into the Storm, Kai Waker (Russia);

• Best Music Video: Can She Stay (Dennis Sy), directed by Daryl Denner (USA);

• Best Short: A Prayer, directed by Diana Colmar-Espinosa (USA);

• Best Short: Fate’s Tale, directed by Sadia Afrin (Bangladesh);

• Best Actor Short: John Richardson for The Conflicted (USA);

• Best Actor (Short): Leon Miguel for Galit Na Aso (India/Philippines);

• Best Director Short: Fritz Silorio for Fall Guy (Philippines);

• Best Actor: Carlos Morales for Rolyo (Philippines);

• Best Actress: Leticia Braga for Indigo Child (Brazil);

• Best Ensemble Acting Award (lead actors Christopher de Leon, Matteo Guidicelli, Dina Bonnevie, Sandy Andolong, Gabby Concepcion, Joem Bascon): Across The Crescent Moon (Philippines);

• Independent Achievement Award: Sikreto sa Dilim (producers Ramon Roxas and Mike Magat, Philippines);

• Independent Achievement Award: Producers Anthony Geathers and Lena Shockley (USA);

• Best Director: The Guerilla is a Poet, directed by Sari Dalena and Kiri Dalena (Philippines);
