MANILA, Philippines — Ever since Liza Soberano bagged the role of comic superhero Darna, it has made her not only a bankable actress, but also an actress with a possibly booming bank account.
A reliable source, who requested anonymity, recently revealed to Philstar.com that the star was allegedly paid P3 million for a three-hour appearance in an event. The source, who co-organized the event, further said that the sum was separate from Soberano’s talent fee as a brand endorser.
If these were true, then that could mean Liza’s “appearance fee” is equivalent to P1 million per hour, an amount that would usually take most Filipinos a lifetime to earn.
Liza and her love team partner, Enrique Gil, were part of “ASAP Live in Toronto” last weekend to celebrate ABS-CBN International’s 10th year in Canada, which also marks its 150th birthday.
For the first time ever, Canada witnessed the takeover of more than 35 of the brightest Kapamilya stars, featuring “ASAP” royalties Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, ZsaZsa Padilla, Piolo Pascual and Jolina Magdangal; “Birit Queens” Jona, Morissette, Klarisse and Angeline; “Soul Sessionistas” – Jay-R, KZ, Jason Dy, Daryl Ong, and Kyla; Love Teams of Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson; Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador; Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia; Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil; singers Erik Santos and Yeng Constantino; topnotch dancers Maja Salvador, Enchong Dee, Rayver Cruz and Yassi Pressman; teen idols Robi Domingo and Darren Espanto; OPM hit maker and Canada-based Chiqui Pineda; and prime Kapamilya stars Bea Alonzo, Paulo Avelino, Sam Milby, Richard Yap, Jodi Sta. Maria and OPM icon Ogie Alcasid.
