Kiko stars in Megastar Sharon Cuneta's film
Matos considers it a dream come true to work with the veteran actress.
“It’s a big break for me. I thank Sharon for the opportunity. It’s also a dream come true because lahat naman tayo napapanood siya habang lumalaki ,” says the Filipino-Portuguese actor who became popular after his highly publicized “bigwasan” match with actor Baron Geisler last year became viral.
Matos started in showbiz when he was 13. He came from a humble family; his parents were swine dealers.
“Sampu ang inahin namin at nagtutulong kaming magkapatid para mapalago namin,” he shares.
Kiko also has his hands full training for his debut fight against Billy Jack Magana Sanchez on August 12 at the Araneta Coliseum for the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC). He says he is able to manage his time properly.
“For me, there is a time for everything. I only have shooting once or twice a week. When I am not shooting, I do full-on training,” he says.
Kiko is also excited for the gala night of the Mes De Guzman film on August 8 at the Nicanor Abelardo Hall of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. He wishes that “Ang Pamilyang Hindi Lumuluha” will become a blockbuster at the 13th edition of Cinemalaya. The film is in a tight competition against “Nabubulok”, “Bagahe” and “Sa Gabing Nananahimik Ang Mga Kuliglig."
