Top Model of the World Philippines (TMWP) organization announced that the 25th Top Model of the World competition will take place sometime in February 2018 in St. George, in the picturesque Island nation of Grenada in the Caribbean.
Following last year’s great launch of Top Model of the World Philippines 2016 in the City of Melbourne, Australia, the avid followers and observers are asking if the 2017 competition? to select the Top Model of the World Philippines is truly the pageant to select the Philippines’ representative or was it another pageant altogether.
This question cropped up after some members of the media, contestants and observers were? confused about the staging of another pageant at the Diamond Hotel and at the Resorts World Manila last May 12 where Filipina-Perth model Natalie Lane won two titles in that contest.

But pageant enthusiasts said that they only saw the pageant initiated by Slimmers World and the name “Top Model of the World Philippines” was relegated into an obscure name and only a background name or just a “minor cooperator.”
Surprisingly, the pageant operators announced during the finals that the winner of Miss Bikini Philippines will be sent few weeks later ?as the country’s representative to the Top Model of the World finals in Egypt. What happened to Top Model of the World Philippines (TMWP)? Wasn’t it supposed to be a joint cooperation where the pageant would jointly choose TMWP?
That? annual contest was organized by Slimmers World. As winner, Natalie was supposed to later represent the Philippines in the Top Model of the World (TMW) international competition in Egypt. Christa was unanimously chosen as the? deserving representative to the international tilt.
Abigail Grigsby arrived in Manila as ?the delegate of Melbourne to Mutya ng Pilipinas 2017 pageant tonight. She placed second runner-up representing Victoria in the TMWP 2016 in Melbourne, managed by Face Australia Promotions Management (the partner organization of TMWP in Australia).
Top Model of the World Philippines (TMWP) was organized and activated in 2006. During its maiden year, its first candidate to the Top Model of the World competition in Kunming, China — Michelle de Leon won first runner-up to Miss Brazil who was dethroned after a few months when she insisted on joining the Miss Brazil Universe. Ultimately, she was declared first runner-up in the Miss U 2007 contest in Mexico.
