MANILA, Philippines — In addition to AlDub, JaDine, LizQuen, and KathNiel, more and more love teams are sprouting up by the minute, proof that the millennials of today are no less romantic than their moms and dads that rooted for Guy and Pip or Vilma and Edgar.

Get to know three of today’s up-and-coming love teams and see if theirs is fad or forever.

Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo          The Eddys/Released

KissMarc, the love team formed by “Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7” housemates Kisses Delavin and Marco Gallo, added “kilig” to the first ever The Eddys: Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards held last Sunday in Kia Theater, Quezon City.

While JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre) performed during the awards, KissMarc, along with other love teams such as ElNella (Elmo Magalona and Janella Salvador), presented the awards that went to the likes of Vilma Santos for Best Actress and Paolo Ballesteros for Best Actor.

Marco recently revealed that he has feelings for Kisses and he felt jealous when he saw her with other guys. He and fellow PBB housemate Edward Barber were in the 18 roses of Kisses’ grand, fairytale-like debut party.

Edward is currently on a rumored real-life relationship with PBB grand winner Maymay Entrata and their love team has been called “MayWard.”

KissMarc and MayWard will both star in their debut movie called “Loving In Tandem” to be released by Star Cinema.

McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson     ABS-CBN/Released

McLisse

As a love team, McCoy de Leon and Elisse Joson or most commonly known as “McLisse“ admitted they feel the pressure of the fans who want their team up to become true in real life. They, however, consider themselves “exclusively dating” and they do not want to rush things.

When asked in a recent press conference for their single “If We Fall In Love,” McCoy, member of dance group Hashtags, said: “I’ll be consistent.” Meanwhile, Elisse, who was first discovered from a TV commercial, said: “You’ll be my only one.”

McLisse admitted that if not for fans, they will not be as big as this in the industry, so they are thankful for their thousands of loyal followers.

They are currently lined up to do a new teleserye on ABS-CBN but they still continue to be a part of the top rating “Ang Probinsyano.”

“Di pa naman po kami namamatay sa ‘Ang Probinsyano,’ wala pa rin umaalis sa ibang bansa. Nu’ng nagumpisa kasi ‘yung Book 2, sinama po kasi kami sa early episodes, ‘di pa naman namin alam kung saan papunta,” Elisse jokingly said.

Alempoy

Cornerstone’s latest project for Alessandra de Rossi is “Kita Kita,” which teams her up with an unlikely leading man, Empoy Marquez, for the first time. 

In the movie, Alessandra is beautiful; Empoy, ordinary looking. But she falls for the guy anyway, when she meets him in Hokkaido, Japan, where they are both based. If you think the situation is unlikely, it is. 

The thing is, in the movie, Alessandra is blind. She only “sees” Empoy’s good heart. That is how the Alempoy love team was born.

Unlike JaDine (James Reid and Nadine Lustre), LizQuen (Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil) and other love teams, Alempoy is far from glamorous.  Alessandra has that no makeup look. She does not have an OOTD to boast of.  Her hair in the movie remains the same from start to finish.

Watch out for Alempoy in “Kita Kita” when it opens nationwide on July 19.
