MANILA, Philippines — Vilma Santos and Paolo Ballesteros won Best Actress and Best Actor respectively at the 1st Eddy Awards last July 8 at the Kia Theater in Cubao, Quezon City.
Vilma won for "Everything About Her," while Paolo was recognized for "Die Beautiful."
Lav Diaz added another feather in his cap by winning Best Director for "Ang Babaeng Humayo."
Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz, on the other hand, were named Best Actress and Best Actor for "Everything About Her" and "Ang Babaeng Humayo," respectively.
The late Jake Tordesillas, a multi-awarded movie scriptwriter, was given a posthumous award.
The Eddys is organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors, composed of entertainment editors of broadsheets and tabloids nationwide.
