Richard Gutierrez: Lessons from dad to Zion

MANILA, Philippines — New ABS-CBN soap opera “La Luna Sangre” is set to premiere on Monday, and actor Richard Gutierrez, who plays a villain, cannot contain his excitement over his big TV comeback.

But before that, Richard celebrates Father’s Day with his family, particularly, with dad Eddie Gutierrez and son with Sarah Lahbati, Zion.

“I’m enjoying being a dad. There were days before sa showbiz na parating tinatago ‘yung anak. Pero I think, the world has changed. I’m just enjoying being a dad right now to Zion,” Richard said in a recent press conference, in response to a question from Philstar.com.

Zion, he said, is not a daddy’s boy, but a “lolo’s boy.”

“Alam mo ba ‘yung relationship ng dad ko kay Zion? Unbreakable! Grabe ‘yung bond ni Zion at ni dad ko. Talagang lolo’s boy s’ya. Talagang strong ‘yung bonding nila.”

If there is something he would like to pass on to Zion that he learned from his dad, what would it be?

“Kung anuman ‘yung maipapasa ko na naipasa sa’kin siguro to be always be humble, be polite, and be God-fearing,” Richard said.
