MANILA, Philippines — Breaking out at the beginning of the millennium, Britney Spears has inspired millions with her catchy songs and sexy attitude. As a true household name and trailblazer for all pop singers who followed, we thought it would be a fitting and timely tribute to look back at our favorite memories of Britney as she gets ready to hit the stage tonight in Manila.
Turn up the volume of your playlist and relive the Britney magic in her most iconic moments:
1989-1994: “The Mickey Mouse Club”
This hit American variety show featured future entertainment big shots such as Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, and of course, Britney. The show was a good training ground and served as Britney’s stepping stone to international stardom.

‘90s fashion icon
Ever since Britney came out in a kitsch high school uniform and pigtails in “Baby, One More Time,” many teens copied her sexy, preppy style.
Whatever Britney wore sparked a demand for new millennium fashion. Everybody wanted a piece of what she wore, resulting in all of her fans owning at least two pairs of washed/flared denims and their very own Skechers shoes.
Many of us look back on our Skechers shoes from those days with a tinge of nostalgia. Did you know though that Skechers has updated the iconic design? This time around, they included their signature Memory Foam insoles aside from sleek details and on-trend palettes. Now we can cop the trending 90’s-00’s retro chic look and relive Britney fever in comfort.

1999: Sweet and sexy cover
At the turn of a new era, Britney was leading a legion of fans who loved her for her music and her fashion. Her young, sweet, yet sexy image became ingrained in her identity that people can’t think of Britney without her cover of Rolling Stone or her numerous cropped tops.

2001: Boldest performance of her time
Anyone who have lived through Britney’s post-Video and Music Awards 2001 show will have seen a handful of girls (and boys) donning a fake albino Burmese Python as a Halloween costume, and for good reason!
Britney strutting on the stage singing her hit song “I’m a Slave 4 U” with a seven-foot snake around her shoulders is a legacy even today’s brightest stars find difficult to top.

2004: Super fierce TV ad
Move over, Wonder Woman. Back in 2004, Britney joined forces with fellow powerhouses Beyonce and Pink for a soft drink ad so fierce, the Romans are gladiators themselves are turning in their graves!
The campaign’s flawless cinematography together with Queen’s “We Will Rock You” marked the commercial as one of the most memorable of all time.
