MANILA, Philippines — Singer-actor Kean Cipriano and his band, Callalily, released on March 24 their new single, “Miles Away.”

Available in streaming app Spotify, “Miles Away” is perfect for summer as it is “more chill, bouncier and laidback” than their usual pop rock hits, Cirpriano told Philstar.com in an interview during eyewear brand Ray-Ban’s spring-summer 2017 launch.

The all-English “Miles Away” features new backing vocals, guitar riffs and an enhanced version of the band’s usual fare. As Cirpriano described it, “It’s Callalily 2017!”

“We’re doing singles now to keep up with the landscape,” he said, explaining that doing singles and releasing them on a streaming app have been a huge trend in the music scene, as opposed to releasing CD compilations that are hard to sell and are prone to piracy. He hopes to collect more singles enough to form a new album.

The group’s last album, “Greetings from Callalily,” was launched in 2015.

After starring in the ABS-CBN TV series, “Dolce Amore,” opposite Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano, Kean said he already has projects with the network lined up for him.

“Pero meron din akong dreams of directing my full-length film. Actually, meron na akong scripts,” shared the Callalily frontman, who finished a film course in the local film institute, Mowelfund.

This summer, Callalily will go on a summer tour together with its new single. What are other things in Kean’s #SummerGoals?

The actor said: “Kailangan ko mag-dagat to take the toxicity away!”
