Maxine Medina: ‘Mga kababayan, this is it!’

MANILA, Philippines - Though nervous, Miss Philippines Maxine Medina is also excited to compete for the crown just hours away from the Miss Universe coronation at eight o’clock this morning in Manila.

“Suportahan n’yo ko! Mga kababayan, this is it!” the model urged as she passed by the red carpet welcome in SMX Convention Center last night.

She was in a crimson gown that stood out on the red carpet for being glittery all the way. Her dress matched the color of the Francis Libiran ensemble worn by reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach.

Maxine was among the very few, including Miss Thailand, Miss Singapore, and Miss Venezuela, who were whisked away hurriedly by the event’s organizers and were prevented from taking longer than usual interviews and photo opportunities with fans. Do these mean they have made it to the semi-finals?
