John Ablaza fashion show in NYC

MANILA, Philippines – John Ablaza (in blue, surrounded by models including 2016 Miss Universe Soyini Fraser), an international eco-fashion designer from the Philippines, held his one-night only Couture & Culture NYC 2016 in New York last Dec. 10.

John, known for his use of sustainable local materials, has always envisioned an NYC show for his creations. He has done shows in the runways of Hong Kong, Singapore, London, Bahrain, Sydney and Toronto. ‘It is a dream come true for me!’ he enthused after the show.

Apart from his Zimbabwe-inspired collections, John also showcased his couture bow ties during the evening.

John spent a lot of time in Zimbabwe recently teaching fashion techniques to eager designers in several fashion workshops. One lucky designer had the chance to show her creations during John’s show. Yvette Ndaba was truly grateful seeing her ensembles on the runway.
