MANILA, Philippines – Eduardo Roy Jr. (far left) and Hasmine Killip (left) won Best Director and Best Actress for Pamilya Ordinaryo (Ordinary Life) at the 4th Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) in Vietnam.
Roy and Killip bested 11 other entries in the Feature-Length Film Competition from Canada, Russia, France/Czech Republic/Belgium, India, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Iran, South Korea and Vietnam.
Jury chairman was French director, screenwriter and producer Régis Wargnier; his film Indochine won the Oscar Best Foreign Language Film for 1992. Jury members were Hollywood actress Geraldine Chaplin, Indian director, screenwriter, producer Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Vietnamese director Dao Ba Son and the Philippines’ Iza Calzado.
