Kiana hits 100K on IG, releases new single

MANILA, Philippines - Kiana Valenciano is slowly but surely soaring. Celebrating 100,000 Instagram followers, and a string of brands she has been made an ambassador of, this popular digital influencer recently released her single titled Circles — a song that she co-wrote, co-arranged and co-produced with her Papa, music icon Gary Valenciano. And she released it independently.

Circles gives a fresh and new side to Kiana’s musicality as an artist as the single provides a glimpse to her soulful-R&B-electro music influences. A reluctant star, Kiana has opted to carve her own niche by avoiding the all-too-familiar mainstream routes to tread on her own path, which is laced with fashion, travel and music.

As soon as she opened her eyes, Kiana was destined to make ripples in the music industry — the same field that was instrumental in building the legacy of her parents.

With a clan of artists behind her, there is no way Kiana could escape her destiny as a musical artist. Both of her grandmothers are singers. Her mother used to sing in the band Music and Magic in the early ’80s. Her brothers Paolo and Gab have also made their individual marks in the entertainment industry and it is just natural for Kiana to follow suit.

In fact, she started in the field of recording at the age of six and was rewarded for her effort with the Awit Award’s Best Christmas Recording and Best Child Recording Artist for the song Once Again It’s Christmas, a composition of Gary V, who also performed the song with her. This was the beginning of the evolution of a talent that was preserved and now is ready to be unleashed.

As she entered her teens, she was able to further showcase her innate talent in TV shows like The X Factor Philippines, It’s Showtime and ASAP. She was also able to share the limelight with Maestro Ryan Cayabyab and the San Miguel Philharmonic Orchestra. She was chosen in 2014 as 89.9 Magic’s Most Promising Female Artist. She took a few months off in 2015 to take some special courses in Fashion Design at the prestigious art school, Central Saint Martins in London.

Utilizing the power of social media, she recorded some covers with her brother Gab and posted them on their YouTube sites. She has an ever-increasing following of more than 53,000 followers on Twitter. This tagged her as an influencer because of her impressive 84-percent engagement score and a whopping 100,000 followers on Instagram with an equally impressive engagement score of 100 percent. The blogosphere also became her platform as she was chosen as Candy Magazine’s Reader’s Choice as Favorite Blogger for 2015 with her www.kianavee.com platform.

Her journey in the field of music reached greater heights when she bagged the Most Promising New Female Singer of Magic 89.9 for the song With You, a duet with her dad which he wrote for her older brother Paolo’s wedding and which was the title of the best inspirational album for the Catholic Mass Media Awards last year.

In 2015, she bagged the Awit Award’s Best New Female Recording Artist trophy for Dear Heart, a finalist in the 2014 Philpop that was written by Mike Villegas who personally chose her to bring life to the upbeat love tune.

With Circles, Kiana is finally releasing a song that is from a genre that is all her own, and the lady is on her way to creating bigger ripples in the music industry as she continues to work on new materials for her much-awaited album while inspiring young people with her humility and passion for excellence in all that she aspires to pursue. Kiana will also soon join Viva Artist Agency for booking and management and she is also set to be part of MTV Pilipinas.
