Tom on his 2 GMA projects

In 2014, Tom Rodriguez showcased his hosting skills in morning game show Don’t Lose The Money on GMA Network, a successful franchise from Germany. However, it went on for only three months.

Once again, the Kapuso star is now hosting the newest talent reality competition #LIKE, every Saturday after Eat, Bulaga!

Those who have not seen the pilot episode of #LIKE, will know that each episode will pit online sensations against each other in individual or group battles to see who has the most hashtag like-able talent. But this time, you won’t see them on the mobile screen, not even in a TV studio, but in your very own barangay.

Who can judge these viral stars better than the Taumbayan Likers made up of 100 barangay members. The act that gets the most LIKEs will be hashtag blessed to be called the winners.

You can also see in the newest reality show is the YouTube star John Philip “Balang” kenned for his viral dancing stints in the Ellen De Generes Show.

According to GMA news, Tom was asked if he felt pressured to do well in his drama series Someone to Watch Over Me which premiered last Sept. 5 and also in #LIKE.

He expounded, “For me, I’m excited definitely. If I worry about the pressure, it won’t help me in any way. Whatever is given to me — whether I’m familiar with it or not  — I will give it a try.”

He also said that he was not in control of what people would say. “Whether their opinion is positive or negative, it is beyond my control. What I can only control is what I can do and what I can give to my work. For me, what I can think of is to do the best that I can do.”

Tom also shared how he was more interested in his role in the new drama series Someone To Watch Over Me.

Tom breathes life to the character of TJ Chavez, a playful and outgoing guy who falls madly in love with Joanna. He and his wife will face their biggest setback when he is diagnosed with the early-onset Alzheimer’s.

Tom said he became even more interested in the story as he studied his character. “Actually, while I’m studying my character, I’m excited to see where the story is bringing us. My character will not get healed miraculously. So, it’s exciting to see where it goes,” Tom said.
