MANILA, Philippines - It’s quite difficult to imagine the 12-year-old Beyoncé-loving, Amy Winehouse-belting bubbly actress Millie Bobby Brown as the same person portraying the enigmatic telekinetic Eleven from the Netflix hit series Stranger Things.

“I didn’t relate to her in any way, I’m very happy, quite the opposite,” Millie told the media during a presscon last Aug. 28 at the AsiaPop Comicon in SMX Convention Center.

Yet despite the polarity, her portrayal of Eleven has earned her rave reviews and she recently topped the IMDB Star Meter. Hollywood stars like Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Paul admitted to being fans of Millie. Even local celebrities Tom Rodriguez and Carla Abellana gushed about meeting the actress and posted photos with her on their respective Instagram accounts.

Millie previously starred in the series Intruders opposite Oscar winner Mira Sorvino and John Simm. Millie also had a recurring role in the series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as the young Alice.

Her character Eleven in the show is considered a fan favorite and the breakthrough star of the series. The hit series, created by the Duffer Brothers, stars David Harbour and Winona Ryder, whom Millie considers to be “a very good friend of mine.”

“I go talk to her about anything. So if I have a problem with a scene I don’t know how to (deliver), I go to her. And she’d tell me how to do it. And she’s not a criticizing person at all,” Millie said of Winona.

With all the mystery surrounding Eleven, the actress herself admitted to getting intrigued by her. “I like how she’s different, she can be super badass or she could be very vulnerable in an instant.”

Millie also shared that upon reading the script, she immediately empathized with Eleven. “I really felt sorry for her when I read the script. For some reason, I just wanted to be a part of this project.”

And to show dedication to her character, Millie had no trouble losing her precious locks for the role. “I knew that day that Eleven was going to be born, and I was very excited. I couldn’t get in the chair quick enough, chop it off, let me start with filming.”

As for what’s in store for Eleven, Millie is tight-lipped on spoilers. “She moves to L.A., she finds a nice mansion. She gets a great lifestyle,” joked Millie.

What Millie did share though was her desire to return to the country after having a fantastic time here. “I’m definitely coming back...Well, I have many years to come back.”
